Some Recent Purchases

So, I went shopping…again.

I got a couple of things which I really wanted to try and one (novelty) item.

SDC12019 (3)

The first thing I got was a Pacifica Solid Perfume in ‘Mediterranean Fig’. This was £2.25 from Tesco in the clearance beauty section. Tesco are really upping their game in the beauty department at the moment. They stock so many different brands now, from well-known to independent. I thought this would be perfect for travelling and it is worth noting that this brand is vegan/100% natural.

The next item I got was Rosehip Plus Pure and Natural Rosehip Oil. I’ve been wanting to try rosehip oil for so long but the only ones I could find were unjustifiably expensive to me (Trilogy’s version is £16.50 for 20ml @ Boots). This, however, was £7.99 for 30ml from TK Maxx. I’m hoping this will be just as good as more expensive versions.

The final item was this bag I also got from TK Maxx a couple of weeks ago. I just couldn’t resist his little face. He was £11 (from £14.99) and is by a brand called Long & Sons which I’ve never heard of. There was also an owl version but I decided on this one instead. The bag is quite small, though – I can fit only my purse, keys and maybe a pack of tissues, but not my phone. As I like to carry my phone around separately anyway, this isn’t an issue.

Mini Haulin’ and Haircut

Today has been fairly productive. I went shopping AND got my hair done.

I only bought a few items but thought I would share them anyway.

First up is this Ted Baker Regency Houses gift set from Poundstretcher of all places. I got this for the bargain price of £5.99 just before I was about to leave. It comes with two full size products – a body wash and lotion, but to be honest, I mainly bought this just for the bag.

Next I bought this nspa ‘Spa Treatment in a Box’ set from Asda for £4 (usually £10!). It contains a light day cream and glycolic peel solution with brush applicator. I haven’t tried a glycolic peel before but have heard good things about this on other blogs so will give it a go. Hopefully this will sort out my combo/oily skin…meh. I will do a review of this within the next few weeks.

Resting bitch face, anyone?

As mentioned, I got my haircut. It was a pretty dramatic change for me as I usually have just mid-length to long hair most of the time. I got about 3-4 inches off my hair and am SO happy with it. Having long hair is such a chore – the extra washing, drying, dry-shampooing etc etc, so I got it cut into a longish bob, or ‘lob’ as it’s sometimes called,  keeping my fringe which I have had for about 2 1/2 years now. I did attempt to cut my fringe last weekend but that was a massive fail. Oh well, its sorted now.

I realise that this may be the first picture I post of myself on here. AHHH >.<

Empties

Here are some things I have recently finished:

GARNIER MICELLAR WATERI’ve had this stuff for ages. Its good at removing my waterproof makeup and is good value for money (about £4 for a massive bottle). Its a great all-in-one product which I highly recommend, although I do still have to try the original Bioderma which I have stashed away.

SCHWARZKOPF GOT2B ROCKIN’ IT DRY SHAMPOO

This is an excellent dry shampoo if it wasn’t for the poor packaging which can cause leakages. However, I don’t think I had this problem with the bottle I had. I managed to find this in the pound shop a little while ago and I’m pretty sure its discontinued now, so am unable to repurchase this. I still prefer the Batiste versions if I’m completely honest.

FIORI BODY WASH

I couldn’t find a picture for this one. This was given to me as part of a gift set for Christmas along with an EDT, which I believe was brought from Bodycare for no more than £5. I really liked this. It lathers well and the scent lasts for a good while too. The scent is quite floral and summery, which is what I prefer. Highly recommend.

I’m a Whore-der.

This is something I’ve known for a long time. I collect lots of things – clothes, make-up, nail polish etc – which can lead to problems.

For instance, I own around 200 nail polishes. I mean who the fudge needs that many nail polishes? A MILLIPEDE? There is only so many variations of red that one person realistically needs.

I can’t really pinpoint when this obsession with owning lots of items started, although I think it may have started when my parents opened a bank account for me and gave me my own debit card just before I went to college.

I can remember my parents struggling with money and not being able to afford the little luxuries that life can offer. This may have contributed to my distorted train of thinking that more = better, which is not very healthy really.

From this picture above, I’d probably rate my room between a 4 or 5 (although I’d say my room is much tidier than these example images). I want to get it down to at least 2.

However, since moving away from home nine months ago for university, my stash of beauty items and clothes (and all kinds of other crap) has doubled. As soon as I moved away, I instantaneously went into survival mode, buying anything and everything I could find that was a bargain.

Nevertheless, I have never gotten myself into debt because of my habits, so…it’s okay for now, I suppose? At least I’m well prepared for the next year of Uni.

Anybody there?

My first initial post on here was back in 2013, when I was not feeling so great about life…in general, so I have deleted that one.

Whats happened between then? I’ve started studying for my degree in Sociology and have just finished first year at Uni. Its been full of highs and lows, but for the most part, a much-needed positive impact which I needed.

I now have about 3 months of free time to fill up before starting second year, which is quite daunting. I have began applying for jobs again and hope someone gets back to me, but I am not too worried if nothing happens at the moment.

I do plan on blogging more often over the next few months, as writing is something I really admire. I wrote non-stop when I was younger which I remember being really enjoyable, so I want to start doing that again.

Anyway…

This blog will be primarily about beauty, fashion and life stories. Basically it will cover anything and everything that happens to be on my mind.

P.S. If you are not a cat fan, then this blog is probably not for you.

Hellooo.

So…hi. My name is Emma.

I did have a blogger but decided to join WordPress instead. Hopefully this was a good idea!

The next 3 posts will just be my old posts from blogger which I thought I would add to here so I don’t lose them (even if they aren’t necessarily brilliant).
